Would Your Mouth Benefit from an Electric Flosser?

Flossing is not always the easiest habit to remember. If you are running late, you may miss a day here and there and not really think twice about it. To make life easier, there are quite a few companies that not only make electric toothbrushes, but also make electric flossers.

They are able to get deeper into your mouth and offer a more thorough clean than traditional flossing for most people.

The Benefits of Getting an Electric Flosser

Electric flossers typically use water to floss your teeth. They have a reservoir that holds the water, and a pressurized stream of water is what cleans between your teeth.

You can adjust how close or far the jet is to your teeth and gums, and you can even decide what you want coming out of the nozzle. If you are fighting gum disease, your dentist may want you to use mouthwash instead of water, which is something you can do with an electric flosser.

Instead of having to try and wiggle long bits of floss between your teeth, you can take a simple nozzle and hold it in place in your mouth to clean between each of your teeth. You can also use the flosser to get down along the gum line of each of your teeth, which is very difficult if you are using floss. That gives you a better clean than string can typically offer.

If you would like to include these benefits in your oral hygiene routine, then you need to talk with your dentist to make sure that your teeth would be good candidates. Most people will be, but if you have loose teeth or severe gum disease, your dentist may have you wait until more healing has occurred.

Contact our office today, so you can start using one as soon as possible, if you get the thumbs up!
