Reasons You May Want to Get Oral Sedation

Oral sedation helps when you are nervous about dental procedures, but that is not all that it is good for. If you are worried about pain during a procedure, having oral sedation allows you to bypass that fear and get the dental care you need.

There are numerous benefits of having oral sedation, which is why more dentists are offering it now than ever before. Here are some things you may want to consider if you are contemplating getting oral sedation at your next dental visit.

You Can Get More Done When Sedated

Instead of having to go around and numb a bunch of different areas for a bunch of different minor procedures, when you opt to have oral sedation, you can get it all done at once. This can save you time, and it can even save you money. Since you will not have to come back in for different procedures at different times, you can save yourself time off work and get everything done in one or two trips. This can also help you heal more quickly, since you are not starting to heal from one procedure just as you start the next.

Oral sedation doesn't knock you out. It simply relaxes you and allows you to feel calm during the entire procedure. You won't remember much, if any, of the procedure, which can then lessen your fear of the dentist if you have one. Many people who haven't been to the dentist in the last six months use fear as the reason for this disparity of care.

If you are worried about what the dentist is going to need to do to get your mouth healthy, then make sure you contact our office to request sedation for your procedure. Then, you won't have to miss your next checkup!
