Are Dental Veneers Painful to Get?

Posted on 9/20/2016 by Anthony M. DiCesare
A woman happy with her porcelain veneers. If you have teeth that are discolored, stained, cracked, or crooked, you may have considered veneers as one of your options. Along with that consideration usually comes the question: Do they hurt? The answer is no!

Having A Veneer Attached To Your Tooth

When you come see us to get a veneer put on, we do everything that we can to make sure that you are comfortable during the entire process.

Before we begin, we will administer an anesthetic to help numb the area.

During the procedure, keep in mind that we are not performing major resurfacing-in fact, many people are able to use the resurfaced tooth as a normal tooth in the event the veneer is temporarily removed from the tooth for some reason.

You may experience some slight discomfort after the procedure has finished and your anesthetic begins to wear off, but you can take care of this by using over the counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil for a few days until the discomfort subsides.
